Truth.

There are days that the past rears its ugly mug and stares at you, waiting for a response. This is where you have two choices.

1. You act in your flesh and respond in the flesh.

2. You remain silent and go to God.

The flesh response is what the enemy wants. The enemy wants the guilt and shame to consume the body and for there to be anger in the response. The flesh wants to spew hateful words and wallow in the filth.

Remaining silent, trusting God, and allowing His word to consume the mind and heart is what God wants. He wants the response to be loving and sometimes silence is the most loving act that can be done.

Gods truth-

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. (James 1:2-3)

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are Sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’ The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. (Romans 8:14-16)

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. (Ephesians 1:5)

I belong to Christ. I am not my past. I am not bound by my sin. Christ severed those chains and it is all covered by His precious blood. I am so grateful for this truth. His truths are all that matters. People will hurt me. Words hurt. My mistakes hurt. Life is painful. But, God is sovereign and He is molding me into the Godly woman He has destined me to be. I am not perfect, nor will I ever be, I will never forget my past but I am grateful for that because it reminds me of where I’ve came from.

Have mercy on me, O God,
    according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
    blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity
    and cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my transgressions,
    and my sin is always before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned
    and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict
    and justified when you judge.
Surely I was sinful at birth,
    sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
    you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
    wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness;
    let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins
    and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
    and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
    or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
    and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (Psalm 51:1-12)

Thank you God for all your blessings. Thank you for bringing me from where I was to where I am.

As Voddie says, “I am not who I oughta be but HALLELUJAH I am not who I was.”

Thank you God for the day when I will be made whole. Help me Lord to remember your word and take each day as a blessing and glorify You in my word and actions.

God never leaves. He truly forgives. He is a good father and He knows every single tear that leaves our eyes. What a comfort.

Rest in Him.
